PRESIDENTS MESSAGE from Glen Collier
January 8, 2021
Mark 1:4-11 And so John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River. John wore clothing made of camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey. And this was his message: “After me comes the one more powerful than I, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.” At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. Just as Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”

As the Council focuses on new programs to support our community at Faith and the Parrish, Florida community around us, we request your input into what you feel these programs may look like. “WE ARE THE CHURCH” – Christ’s visible presence on earth to those who do not yet know Him! People in and around Parrish are looking at our church and thinking about visiting one of our worship services. God wants us to be the present-day John the Baptist to our non-churched community. There are people around us that are emotionally swamped, overwhelmed by their circumstances, and feeling hopeless about their futures. We have God’s answer for these people. We know this because God himself declared of Jesus, “You are My beloved Son, with You I am well pleased.”
January is off to a great start with Pastor’s new Bible studies and our Elder’s GriefShare seminars and support group. Please share this with your friends and neighbors and invite them to worship with you. Don’t miss out! Reinvigorate your faith! And please visit the Sign-Up Genius to register for Divine Services in 1st quarter of 2021. Praise the Lord!
Blessings to everyone,
Glen
